WOW, What a crazy camp !

What a crazy camp this years Intensive Training Camp turned out to be. We had an incredible group of wrestlers that attended. I believe we had over 8 State Titles in the room, not to mention several state placers and plenty of future state champions to be. Everyone worked their tails off in 90 degree heat for 6 hours a day, 3 days in row. We introduced our new Customized Elite Training Bags from Slam Performance Products for the second time. Only this time, we really put them to the test. From 1 minute of snatches to 5 minutes of lunges, the guys were forced to step up and challenge their strength both mentally and physically.

They were rewarded big time for their work ethic (as always). Every wrestler took advantage of all the amentities available from swimming, fishing, bowling, even basketball to old school arcade games all the way to a home theater room with sound that can compete with many local cinemas. Personally, I had the most fun playing Ultimate Frizbee. With my team going 4 - 2 ! I still can't believe we lost twice !!

Coach John Foster (http://fostertrained.com/) started off the strength training with a 25 minute circuit that turned into alot of sweat. I finished it off with a 20 minute bear crawl challenge on top of a 15 minute circuit that consisted of 3 (5 minute) stations that took alot of mental toughness to complete.

I was extremely impressed by everyone's efforts and made sure they all knew. Many of the challenges and workouts were difficult for any well-conditioned athlete to do, let alone mixing in 90 degree heat, plus a 1.5 hour wrestling workout. The group we had seemed to have something to prove. They worked very hard to say the least and somehow had enough energy left to enjoy all the fun and games.

I hope everyone had a great camp and experience. Don't forget to leave any comments you want to share regarding this years 2008 Intensive Camp.

Coach Tom, Your camp was amazing. The facility was incredible. What more can I say. I'll definitely be at your next camp. I can't wait to hit open mats this week to start hitting some of the moves I learned.
